Do women have a better physical shape than men?

In a new small study, researchers compared oxygen uptake and oxygen extraction in the muscles of 18 young men and women during training on a running device. The absorption of oxygen is an important measure of air conditioning.

According to researchers at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, women regularly treat oxygen 30% faster than men.

“The results contradict the popular hypothesis that men’s bodies are more naturally athletic,” study author Thomas Beltamy said in a statement.

Another researcher expressed this as follows.

“We found that women’s muscles extract oxygen from the blood faster, which is scientifically indicating an excellent antenna system,” said Richard Higgson, a professor at the University of Toronto’s School of Applied Health Sciences. Waterloo. And also an expert in vascular aging and brain health.

The researchers say women experience oxygen faster, and are unlikely to accumulate molecules associated with muscle fatigue, perceived effort, and poor athletic performance.

The results have recently been published in the Journal of Applied Physiology, Nutrition and Metabolism.

“Although we do not know why women are rapidly dealing with oxygen, this study defies conventional wisdom,” Beltram said. “This can change the way we deal with sports assessment and training in the future.”
